LISANNE CAPE DORION

Lisanne’s relentless pursuit to apply her educational and experiential opportunities has been a driving force in bringing her to where she is today – wandering the Serengeti for an awesome cause.

Her formal education was at Williams College where she majored in Political Science and American Studies, with a concentration in Middle East and African studies (Class of 1987). She studied in Cairo, Egypt at the American University in Cairo in 1985-6. Whilst at Williams she was also a three sport Varsity athlete in Soccer, Track, and Lacrosse. She later earned her Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law. Lisanne strongly believes her formal education allowed her the agility and depth to see challenges as opportunities and set-backs as springboards.

In her professional life she has worked on legal and business matters throughout Europe, Latin American, Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific. She is most comfortable focusing on complex matters that involve not just legal issues, but also cultural and commercial considerations. She is privileged to serve as a Faculty Advisor for the Tuck Global Consultancy’s On-Site Programme. Working at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business is an honor and responsibility that Lisanne delights in, as she can contribute not only to the experiential education of MBA students, but also provide value and insights to industry leading companies worldwide. Lisanne is also a supporter of Endeavor Global and a founding board member of Endeavor Puerto Rico.

Lisanne’s pursuit of challenges and experiences outside of the office are as diverse as the landscapes she has traversed. She has coached at the high school and collegiate levels, competed internationally in various sports, has her private pilot license for helicopters, and even learned to knit. Although not a runner she has been talked into (and completed) the Marathon Des Sables, Badwater and was the 2006 4Desert’s Women’s World Champion.

She cherishes her time at home on her small patch of pasture in central Florida with her equines. She competes at the FEI level in Endurance riding and has broken into Training level dressage as well. Just ask her about Tulip and the Queen to hear a truly heartwarming and ‘dream come true’ story.

At the end of the day, it is a love of learning, exploration and endless endurance to turn dreams into reality that fuels Lisanne. Wherever you may find her, Lisanne is constantly refining her belief that obstacles are not just something to overcome, but a chance to create an amazing outcome – and have a good laugh along the way.
